Workshop on "Database Support for KDD" 2001

in conjunction with

5th European Conference on Principles and Practice of Knowledge Discovery in Databases (PKDD'01)

September 3-5, 2001, Freiburg, Germany

Topics

Efficient knowledge discovery in large databases (e.g., in data warehouses) requires substantial support from database systems. Moreover, a tight coupling of database and data mining systems - either by SQL-aware data mining techniques or by database engines providing data mining primitives - could improve the performance and interactivity of knowledge discovery significantly. To meet this challenge the workshop is designed to bring researchers working on the area of database systems and data mining together and foster collaborations among participants.

The main topics of the workshop include, but are not limited to:

Organization and Program commitee (preliminary)

Gunter Saake, University of Magdeburg
Daniel Keim, University of Konstanz
Kai-Uwe Sattler, University of Magdeburg
Alexander Hinneburg, University of Halle
