Current Developments in Database Research
The seminar addresses a selection of current database research topics drawn from
the the last two years VLDB database conference
with a focus
on the following research areas:
- Query processing (conventional, object-relational, semi-structured),
- Self-tuning, self-adaption, autonomous computing,
- Current research on Data Warehouse systems, and
- Similarity-base query processing.

All seminars meetings
will take place on Monday from 11:15 - 12:45. The first date on
Oct 15th is used for an introduction and to assign topics to students. Depending
on the number of students, presentaions will take place towards the end of the
semester. For each date there will be two presentations.
